Aqua Aerobics PE 185
The pool is a great place to get a cardio and strength building workout! You will work as hard as YOU want while remaining cool and refreshed. We move to the music and use the entire pool. Come join us for a safe, effective workout. As water is 12 times more resistant than air, water is an excellent medium to help gain strength during a cardiovascular workout. Let the water provide an optimal resistance workout! Choose your intensity level simply by varying the depth of water that you stand in. Designed for men and women aqua aerobics enhances postural improvement and abdominal strengthening throughout a great cardiovascular workout. Gravity will have a new meaning when you step out of the pool. All swimming abilities welcome.
Lap Swimming PE 185
This course is a combination of stroke improvement technique work and an introduction to a variety of conditioning and training techniques. Your endurance will improve as your strokes do; thus, making swimming more enjoyable and more efficient at the same time! Develops aerobic fitness without the wear and tear on the joints of land workouts. Workouts are individually designed to accommodate your current fitness level. Students should be able to swim front crawl with breathing & back crawl and a breaststroke would be nice.
Beg Swimming PE 185
This course is designed for those of you who never learned to swim as a child or have had a bad experience in the water. Our approach is caring, comforting and personal with safety first. Our goal is to help you meet your goal! Challenge yourself to FINALLY learn to swim and soon you will be participating in water activities with all your friends. This class will provide an introduction for beginners to basic aquatic and swimming skills, personal safety. Students will learn various stroke techniques (may include front crawl, back stroke, breast stroke and butterfly).
Swim Conditioning PE 185
This course consists of a 50 minute workout 2 times per week using different training techniques. This is an excellent way to cross-train for any aerobic sport/activity. Join us and see your entire body change, your overall conditioning improve and your enjoyment and appreciation for the water go WAY UP! This class is for EXPERIENCED swimmers to improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, muscular strength.
Scuba PE 185
Ever wonder what is under the waves? This is the starting point for those of you will would like to discover the wonderful world "down under". You will learn to safely use scuba equipment with confidence through instruction and practice. With classroom, lab and an open-water weekend you can earn a world recognized certification through NAUI. At the end of the term you will have the opportunity to actually use your knowledge and skills in an open water certification dive! All equipment is provided. Certification & open-water training is extra.
